1. ​Act Safety Out: Don’t just merely have a health and safety manual that is never updated. Take time to train employees on what to do and hold everyone accountable. There is nothing more toxic to safety on a jobsite when a senior level employee is seen walking around the jobsite without the correct PPE.
   
2. Plan Safety: The time to address safety issues is not when they arise. Pre-planning is crucial to both the success of production and safety on a jobsite. If you don’t plan, you are planning to fail.
   
3. Correct Jobsite Hazards: Don’t just merely perform a jobsite inspection, actively take steps to eliminate any hazards seen on the jobsite.
   
4. Learn from Mistakes: Take the time after near misses, accidents, and injuries to do a proper investigation and take away actionable items to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
   
5. Encourage Positive Safety: Encourage an open door policy within the organization for safety issues. Without this policy, employees will not feel they can make any changes within the organization.
